The Safety Razor Kit, A Classic Design for modern shaving

If you shave chances are you use a modern cartridge blade like the Gillette Mach 3. And yes, these are a convenient, easy way to get a close shave. But there is another option most men don't even consider, the double edge safety razor. The DE razor was revolutionary when it was first invented around the 1880's and it quickly became the standard way to shave through the 1970's. Until the safety razor was invented shaving was a time consuming, and slightly dangerous daily chore requiring men to use straight razors with no skin guards and constant stropping to keep their straight razors sharp.

We love the Double edge safety razor for it's timeless design and close shave. We make all of our razors in safety razor versions because it's hard to improve on a near perfect shaver. While a cartridge razor is perfect for someone who wants something close, quick, and easy (which is all of us) a safety razor offers a throw back to the way our grandfathers shaved without sacrificing the convenience of a modern razor. Safety razors come in endless versions, from the butterfly opening to the slanted single edge, but we like the combed, racked face similar to the traditional razors like the Parker.

SAFETY RAZORS ARE BETTER FOR SENSITIVE SKIN

If you have sensitive skin or get razor bumps you need to be shaving with a safety razor, period. Safety razors cut with a single blade at a 30 degree angle which does not lift the hair, but simply cuts it straight. The simple, clean design of a DE razor allows it to get the job done without any chance of ingrown hair or razor burn.

SAFETY RAZORS ARE THE MOST SUSTAINABLE WAY TO SHAVE

Unlike many DE razors available today, we make our safety razors with zero plastic parts. Additionally, our razors are made in America by artisans in a zero-waste studio, not an over seas sweatshop. We only source wood from FSC certified mills and build our razors to last. The blades are made from a flexible stainless steel. Natural elements; wood and metal, are all we use to make our razors along with the human elements of skilled craftsmanship and a passion to make the best razors on earth.

SAFETY RAZORS ARE THE MOST AFFORDABLE WAY TO SHAVE

You can get a 10 pack of blades at your grocery store for around $5. So your cost per shave is literally pennies. Even the super premium, coated, steel blades are cost effective when compared to most modern shaving blades. Even with the cheap, ugly, plastic razors Gillette, Harry's and Dollar Shave Club at spitting
out you can't beat the price of a DE razor. If cost is your main concern then we think it's better to invest in a nice razor that uses affordable blades, than use a cheap, plastic razor that uses expensive blades.

SAFETY RAZORS LOOK COOL

There is no denying a double edge safety razors are cool as hell. It's a classic look that makes a refined, sophisticated addition to any shaving routine. Old school to the core, without being old fashioned, the safety razor is a statement  piece a slick nod to when shaving wasn't about how many blades you had, but about simple, confident, perfect style.
